A Museum of Subcultures for Berlin

Berlin, alongside with London and New York, is considered to be the birthplace of subculture. Especially, in its varied and eventful young history, subcultures with their creative, innovative and quite often resistant potential have given the city vital impulses. Subcultures raise the question of the possibility of a differed, a better lifestyle and thereby pose as a school of tolerance and stand as advocates of diversity.

The musuku will reflect the tremendous relevance of subcultures and make room for their narrative. It will be a place of experimentation, of discussions and discourse, and at the same time a consulate for subcultures, that find it ever-increasingly difficult to grasp and interact within the realms of the inner-city circle.
