Lillevan and Der Elektronaut worked together back in the 90s. Now they’re delving into the archives and using photos, samples and flashbacks to create a unique live remix of »Berlin Wonderland«.

Till Theisen: After Eden
»So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.« (Genesis 3:23)
After Eden is a fictional-documentary photographic project about exile, failure, and a state of constant disorientation. Set around Berlin’s Zoo Station, it focuses on people who have not ended up where they had hoped.

Andreas Trogisch (Blotto Books)
For Andreas Trogisch, there are two appropriate forms in which photographs can exist: original prints in exhibitions and the photobook. For him, both have equal value – yet each also possesses its own distinctive qualities. When it comes to books, he is always concerned with creating a carefully composed unity of conceptual content, sequence of images, layout and physical appearance: paper, print quality and binding.
From his catalogue of over 10 titles, he presents three examples of books that could not be more different: ranging from an associative photo essay, through a book comprising a single image, to a strictly pseudo-systematic account of the creation of the world.

Maria Lax – Stray Sod (Setanta Books)
Stray Sod investigates the phenomenon of the same name in Irish folklore: enchanted patches of earth that will lead astray whoever steps on them. Inspired by first-hand accounts found in the Irish National Archives, Maria Lax reimagines rural Irish landscapes through this otherworldly lens.
The stories therein describe instances in which individuals are forced to navigate a world characterised by sudden shifts into unfamiliarity and strangeness. A world in which established reference points distort and slip away, causing great distress to those experiencing it. Stray Sod draws timely parallels between these stories and the destabilizing effects of the fast-changing political and technological environment of today.

Artist Ariel Reichman discusses his latest book and exhibition project, »No One Should Freeze!« (Distanz Verlag).
Ariel Reichman combines photography, film, sculpture, and installation to create powerful experiential spaces that explore the question of what makes a person who they are. While researching his latest book and exhibition project, »No One Should Freeze!«, he also came across the »Winter Relief Fund for the German People« program, launched by Adolf Hitler in 1933, and examined the propaganda-driven fundraising campaign promoted under the slogan »No one should go hungry, no one should freeze!« Particularly revealing are small flower pins that were presented to donors as a token of thanks and that are unsettling in their blend of innocuous beauty and insidious calculation.

Haptik, the magazine for contemporary photography from Berlin and Brandenburg, takes you behind the scenes: how do we bring together a wide range of images and perspectives to create a single issue on a particular theme? We’ll be talking about our collaborative editorial and curatorial process, our workshops and the nature of our magazine. We’ll also discuss what happens when we look at, discuss, select and design images together.

Buchenwald in Pictures: Can Horror Be Beautiful? The Stiftung Buchkunst describes Christian Rothe’s »Buchenwald« as »a book full of power and dignity«. And in 2025, it named the photo book one of the most beautiful German books. But is it permissible to aestheticize horror? Can depictions of a concentration camp be beautiful? Christian Rothe discusses ethics and the photo book with journalist Sebastian Hesse-Kastein.

Vincent Kohlbecher (Blotto Books)
Vincent Kohlbecher talks to Heike Grebin and Andreas Trogisch about his book »A More or Less Visual Companion to Mr P.’s Fairy Tale on Circular Arc Phenomena«, which has just been published by BlottoBooks.
In it, he follows in the footsteps of Thomas Pynchon’s novel »Gravity’s Rainbow« – one of the most enigmatic novels of the 20th century, in which history, myth and paranoia are inextricably intertwined. The Nazis’ V2 rocket is the novel’s great mystery, a symbol of power, destructive masculinity and technological hubris, whose trajectory extends all the way to the American space programme.
Over a period of seven years, Vincent Kohlbecher travelled to the novel’s settings across Europe, Africa, Central Asia and America. The result is a visual world full of sharp cuts, abrupt transitions and unsettling condensations, forming a new kind of visual secondary literature.

Maximiliano Tineo – El Rey Blanco
El Rey Blanco’s project begins with two triangular forms located within the same region: a mountain and a geographical area defined by three points.
The mountain, now known as Cerro de Potosí, was the most significant silver mine in human history. During the Spanish colonial occupation of Latin America, it was intensively exploited until its resources were exhausted.
The geographical area, known as the Lithium Triangle, spans Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile, and contains nearly 70% of the world’s lithium reserves—often referred to as the new »white gold.«
Through a dreamlike visual language inspired by a legend retracing the journey of the Spanish conquistadors, Argentine artist Maximiliano Tineo draws a parallel between these two triangles. His work explores the exploitation of natural resources and examines its human, economic, and environmental consequences.

Heidemarie von Wedel: Atmospheres & Images in Flux
Heidemarie von Wedel’s books and zines are experimental works that structurally explore the medium as a form of reading that strays from the beaten path. They can be experienced directly through touch and sight and do not follow traditional editing conventions. Heidemarie creates atmospheres, currents, and structures, allowing images to interact with one another—openly, poetically, and diversely. In her talk, she will provide insight into book design as part of an artistic practice.
